Not sure what LA fans will say I'm guessing no they don't do this trade, but if I was LA management, I definitely wouldn't do that trade.

Clarke is 100% going to be a better player than Guhle,
Clarke is 18 made the Kings out of camp and still managed to put up 2 pts and a -1 in 9 games, he still needs a season in AHL,
Guhle did not have the same numbers in WHL, Oil king numbers are inflated it was a stacked team, is 20 and only now making NHL line up,

Give Clarke only one season in AHL then look at this again.

I know Guhle has been very productive offensively early, but Clarke's underlying numbers tell a different story. Again, accounting for sample size is important, but Clarke's numbers suggest he is driving play very well in both zones 5v5. Guhle by contrast is a major drag on his team's offense, and his defensive metrics are well behind as well.

Again, both are in the very early stages of their career, but if you're trying to paint the picture that Guhle has jumped past Clarke, the underlying stats just don't bear that out.

Clarke is Doughty's replacement. The Kings aren't going to trade him.

I won't go so far as to say he's untouchable, but he's essentially LA's Jake Sanderson. They're as likely to trade Clarke as Ottawa is to trade Sanderson.

I would counter that Guhle is shutting down Sidney Crosby and Austin Matthews offense while Clarke is -2 in his 1 game in the AHL...

Guhle has 7 points and Clarke has 2 in the NHL.

When Clarke was in the NHL, he was not playing against sid or Austin. Just my opinion but Guhle is WAY ahead of Clarke right now. Will it always be the case, who knows?

The difference between Clarke and Guhle is like the difference between being decapitated or being shot in the head. It doesn't matter cause either way you are dead.

Well I mean...he's a probably the best rookie defenceman in the league.

Sounds like a good reason to be hyped grin

your way off there, Sanderson is playing more minutes against high-level match ups and still looking good.

He is now, but started the season as 18 when he made the team out of camp. Because the way bdays are the point is Guhle has two extra seasons on him. Need to give him time.

did you check a single thing before making this comment? his bday is in febuary. guhle was drafted in 2020 and clarke in 2021, they have a 1 year difference. (but yes we need to give both of them time).

Owen Power? Jake Sanderson?

You have to realize that Sanderson is looking good despite being in a coaching mess. He's going to be immensely good. Power is just a stud

Also, where do you live?

I have been living in Montreal for 30+ years. I live in the suburbs but still a 15-20 mins ride from the Bell Centre without traffic. I know a LOT about the Montreal hype train, the Montreal medias are insane here

Jean-Charles Lajoie and Ron Fournier (who are big names here) when talking about Romanov a few years ago made comparisons with Cale freaking Makar.

Ghule is good but Montreal is still Montreal

Of the 3, Power is playing the best, followed by Guhle and the Sanderson (from the games I've watched). Just the eye test.

All 3 are amazing and bring a 2-way game

I'd take the hype of Montreal as opposed to the nonchalance and care free Ottawa. Hype keeps players accountable, unlike the whopping 4-9 Senators who were supposed to contend this year.

Guhle's on the top pair in Montreal with David Savard, plays against each teams top line every night. Sanderson plays behind Chabot and Zub, they are not the same.

He's been hurt for like 1 game. He's played 14 of 16 this year. Sanderson has been insulated behind him for almost the entire season. Guhle hasn't been insulated, he's been the insulater.

What does it have to do with Ottawa? lol

And for Christ's sake... I am among the Sens biggest critics but

Ottawa is supposed to contend for the playoffs this season, not for the Cup.

When you remove the empty net goals, ALL OF THE LOSSES have been 1 goal games... 100% of them

They have been without Formenton all season, Talbot missed the first 3 weeks, Zub missed 8 games and Norris missed 10 games. Now Chabot is missing too

Plus, the coaching staff is clueless regarding the team defense concept

So yes the Montreal hype train is out of control and has always been. If you had lived here for a while, you'd understand, only major sport being one of the reasons, nostalgia another

Yes the NHL is adding 3 high end D-men this year
