I like the MTL trade. Although tough I'd try and trade Carter over Blueger. Blueger I believe is more valuable

I think Brendan gallagher at 4aav is a fantastic deal. He's shown this year that he still has lots to give.

Winnipeg isn't moving Stanley for an unneeded, rental LD.

I'm not high on Gallagher, his best days a probably behind him. Wouldn't like to trade Teddy either, he's the perfect 3C imo, even though Sully disagrees

Gallagher would be cool, but like @NoWah49 mentioned, he probably isnt a 30-goal guy anymore. I also dont see the Habs retaining that much for the next 5 years.

Drouin has been a big Penguin killer in his career I think. But he also has been a good playoff performer. And then Gallagher is such a pesky player that I think a lot of everyone would love on their team and not to mention he’s a heart and hustle type of player that we could need.

MTL won’t retain 2.5M on gally for that long but I’d love him in my team for the next couple years
Drouin is not the type of player we need for the post season tbh

Holy hell, dumping McGinn's contract AND 15M in retention without giving up a prime asset. Gonna need to reel that way in, dude.

I think if there’s a Gally trade it’ll have to be identical to a Burns trade. Maybe less cap retained but at the same time you never know. Montreal could swallow even more of his cap hit. Anything would be better than buying him out maybe.

Islanders wouldn't need retention on Blueger, so downgrade that return if you're factoring that into his cost. Beyond that, I can't really see them going hard after a guy like Blueger - the only forwards I honestly see him being an upgrade on are the 4th liners, and we all know that the Islanders are legally forbidden from replacing any of Martin-Cizikas-Clutterbuck if they're all healthy.

No, we definitely know Montreal is not giving away a mass of cap space for a bunch of meh.

I honestly thought the same thing of Burns but San Jose just threw him away while swallowing like $2.7M I think. I was just saying that Montreal will probably swallow less cap and I should’ve said it’s due to his contract being more long-term than Burns.
