The Canucks are a mess... What expiring contracts, or long term contracts are of value to other teams?

OEL isn't going anywhere
Miller isn't going anywhere
Garland isn't going anywhere without retention
Horvat SHOULDNT
Myers, MiKheyev, Pearson... Everyone on that roster is overpaid.

Maybe take the picks out then...

I think you're crazy. Quick would re-sign for much less if he wants to come back... and they would flip those picks for Tarasenko, or Laine, or Even Nylander.

Yeah I guess getting the best player in the trade who has another year of term for a guy you aren't keeping, a cap dump and a 2nd is bad these days.

Just checking on Horvat's stats but I just can't find where he was an 80 point player last year. It's weird.

Yea I like that deal for the Canucks... I think Nylander is the superior player but the leafs needs more forward depth than top line talent. Pearson can play 3rd line and contribute here and there in Toronto... I think. I also think they can re-sign Horvat at 5.5-6M-ish... for 4-6 years and he can give them a different ingredient.

I am a Leafs fan but I think their roster construction this year is a mess.

I also want to know about the Kings deal. Quick is 100 years old and Walker isn't special, so I am thinking those picks would be enough.

Pearson can't play well on a bad team, why would he be good in TO? Was Ritchie? And Horvat is going to cost more than Nylander makes right now so where is the depth? This is a gross trade for TO.

Quick is still the starter in LA and until Cal can show he take over from Quick, it doesn't make sense. Kings are trying to get into the playoffs again, not tank
