You’re kidding yourself if you think Minnesota is going to do that. What a massive overpayment.

Wild give up the statistically better player for a pending UFA and give up picks to sweeten the deal? Fleury has an extra year, put the picks on the other side and it's a conversation. lol

Btw putting youth in the title while trading a younger goalie for one of the oldest seems odd.

As a Habs fan, I don't see Jeff Carter leave his full NMC for us.....

Absolutely not on the Habs trade. That is so garbage for the pens. Gallagher is a massive cap dump. Look how much it cost to dump Monahan and he only had a year left on his contract. Gallagher has 5. So you’re looking at multiple unprotected 1sts going to Pitt. Not that we have the cap for it anyway. Carter won’t waive for MTL.

I do Slafkovsky is lost out there and just needs a Carter type to guide him
Monahan cant be that guy we all know his time in MTL was only ever going to be 40-50 games at most.
Evans has his own stuff and Dvorak is a Shoot first Goal Scorer and they dont gel in the same way Caufield wont play with Slafkovsky who keeps showing up in Caufields shooting lane's.

I think it would all come down to a meeting with Slafkovsky and Carter.
If they click like Carter did with "That 70s line" in LAK then yeah it makes sense.

That said it really only makes sense if its a Dvorak deal
I mean getting Gally to a place where he can play wing by a Crosby or a Malkin is a worthy cause.
I just dont see how this deal makes sense for PIT swapping out 2 Centers for a winger given Crosby and Malkins injury history and PIT reliance on depth

McGinn is winger, but the idea is that it adds a new dynamic to the team. Team is very old, and while Gallagher isn't young he plays with an edge. We don't really have any players like that and even though the contract is bad we will be done contending soon anyways.

Alright, like i said MTL would do it to give Gally a shot.
I dont think we're holding out for better deals there just the right fit for him to go out on his terms.
Few survive in MTL and are still loved like Gally is

I think tons of teams would love to have a player like that, only hold up is the contract. If it was like 4-4.5 mil would have a lot more value imo. But Pens desperately need someone who plays that way

Tristan Jarry is a better goalie than Marc Andre fleury right now.
Jarry has been playing hurt this year which is why his stats aren’t the best…
That trade doesn’t make sense for pit or minny tbh
I lowkey think Minnesota would be so goated if they didn’t have those huge cap penalties for suter and parise
Like think what y’all could do with all that money

I love Gallagher and I’m sorry he never got to free agency but with the contract the habs gave him I can’t blame him
I love his style of play and it’s exactly what Sullivan would love same with Josh Anderson
I wish pit could get one of them but carter won’t waive his NMC so it would have to be a couple blueger/kapanen/McGinn type forwards and MTL would have to retain too it is just rlly hard to make the numbers work in a vacuum

He's actually the oldest starter in the league. The only older goalie to play a game this year is Craig Anderson who is Buffalo's backup.

I couldn't remember if Craig Anderson or Mike Smith were playing somewhere this year.

Yeah, they could have re-signed Fiala and saved a lot of Minnesota fans from depression. Goalie isn’t an issue. Wallstedt should be ready by the end of MAF’s contract.
