Also the rangers aren’t trading Lindgren for a rental.

We get that he ran into Stalock, but that doesn’t change the fact he has value lol. More teams invest in fourth liners than you think. Nicolas ****ing Roy plays 4th line technically Lmao.

Roy is also 6 years younger...scores more, plays more minutes, has much better underlying numbers, and can be used on the PP.

If someone offered to take Cizikas for free the isles would be smart to do it

The Blues do need some more dynamic players in their system. However I don't see the Blues doing that all.

Way I c it is this. Islanders try and win games by beating u from the bottom up. Maybe the analytics don’t like it, but it must work to some extent or they wouldn’t be winning.

They are winning because they have the best goaltending tandem in the NHL and an opportunistic top 6. Cizikas has been terrible this season

They have a pretty weak top six which is dependent on Barzal carrying his line single handily. Second line is highly underrated, but it’s not a super skilled unit.

I’m telling u how the isles view it, and so far I can’t disagree tbh.

Cizikas takes a lot of tough matchups and holds his own for the most part. That’s what the eye test tells me at least.

Change Cizikas to Beau and one of the picks to a prospect not named Raty, Dufour, or Iskhakov.

Regardless of how you feel about Casey Cizikas' value - why would he be the roster player coming back in a Tarasenko trade?

First - the Isles have enough deadline cap space to absorb VT's deal in full without retention, or sending another player back. I'm sure they'd take retention if they are making other moves, but I'd wager that for now you can pencil him into their lineup without it.

Second - if the Blues are selling Tarasenko at the deadline, I'm assuming it's part of a rebuild/retool. And in that case I can't see the Blues wanting to take a back a 4th liner who's older than Tarasenko and still has 4x$2.5M left after this year, again, regardless of how valuable you think he is. I'm assuming they're aiming for picks/prospects/young roster players in any sort of Tarasenko move.

Third - it's been widely reported that Seattle was kicking around a 3x$5M offer for Cizikas, who then signed 6x$2.5M with the Islanders - same dollars, just spread out longer. There's nothing officially in it, but I wouldn't be shocked if there was some sort of handshake agreement in place where Lou isn't going to just dump Casey early on in the deal. Him, Matt Martin, and Cal Clutterbuck are probably three of the least likely to be traded players in the NHL right now.

Wouldn't say the top 6 is weak , they are opportunistic and score a lot of goals, Barzal has been great, but seems like there's one winger he's much better with than the rest. Interesting, Lee and Nelson are at PPG pace.

cizkkas does not take tough matchups anymore. The 4th line has been sheltered the past two seasons

Haha no thank you, NYR doesn't need another center. Unless you heard Chytil is doing a fine job at top 9 position.

When Wahlstrom is on his game he’s fantastic. Unfortunately he had a couple games where he got in his head over turnovers.

yes that tends to happen in a game of mistakes like hockey. Expecting him to be great in every game is unrealistic. He helps barzal which is why the team scores more goals when both are on the ice together.
