I think the blues can get better pieces if we trade Tarasenko and ROR individually. Really the only good pieces in this trade are Jones and the first. It's not enough for both blues at 50% retention

No. If you need seven pieces to make an offer for getting both Tarasenko and ROR, and both with max retention, you're doing it wrong. More quality, less quantity, especially from a team with tons of actually good young NHLers and prospects.

Pure rentals, means cup or bust which does not make sense, yet. Throwing 1sts, 2nds & kids out, while already short on cap, depth & trade assets for 1yr rental hurts. Better target is an elc or cheap TBL Goody/Hagel type, preferably a cheap LD.

When any team gets to the point where they are trading up to 7 assets for 1 or 2 assets from the other team, it's almost always a bad trade. Definitely pushing Quantity over Quality.

Don't see ROR in the Rangers future. But if the Blues are out of it come the TDL, I think Tarasenko is a very good target.

I actually think he's a better target than Kane. Lesser Cap means less retention, without a 3rd party getting involved. Which means less assets given up (not pennies on the Dollar, just less than Kane). Plus, I think Tarasenko is a better Goal Scorer that can benefit from Panarin, whereas Kane is more of a Pass First Distributor, at this stage.

Swap out Blais and Reaves and add K Miller and Kakko?
