So Garland is only worth a 3rd more than Schenn? Better downgrade that 2nd for Schenn to a more reasonable 4th.

A "fire sale" means selling items at a discount. New Jersey wouldn't give you Nemec straight up for Demko, let alone through in a lottery pick.

NJ could make the playoffs, especially if they add Demko and he regains form. The pick would be top 5 protected at the least though. It's probably not enough for them to make that move.

Nvm, misread your post and realize that Nemec was in the original trade. I thought you were implying that NJ wouldn't give up a pick that could be more valuable than Nemec who is an untouchable.

isles decline....Don't want that contract of Miler's. We already have a bunch of those.
and isles are not trying anymore 1st rounders. Haven't traded in the 1st round in 3 years. We need to build up our system with such an aging roster in the NHL
