Familar with Granato, can be moved up and down the lineup and play a more defensive role which the Sabres need more of.

Not the most ideal pick for a second line center, but he's still young, cheap, signed for 2 more years, and good on draws (52%) . Can play all three forward positions. Colorado saves 1.98m in cap space.

Trading out a centre for a centre doesn't add to Colorado's centre depth. Avs pass.

Especially when Compher is probably a better player than Mittelstadt. Neither is a 2C though

There's some Sabres fans that won't be happy until olofsson is gone. If this were a real trade, I would suggest putting olofsson on the right side with a competent playmaking center, and just let him shoot. Bryson is undersized, he skates well and looks comfortable with the puck on his stick, you wanna pair him with a bigger/physical d because he gets outmatched against bigger players, bonus is he plays both sides. Honestly, if this were on the table, the Sharks would be idiots to turn it down.

Mittelstadt is not a 2nd line Centre, if he was then you wouldnt be wanting to dump him.

Like if I see another post where somebody makes a case for somebody being a decent center because they have a good face off percentage I’m going to scream. Until there are situational tracking for face offs face off win percentage is more useless than +/-. And needless to say COL laughs at that offer.

no we agree! But this isn’t reality, this would go down as a fleecing and pundits would praise Grier as a GM lol.
