Tippett's been very good as of late. He'd cost a lot more, because not only is he playing well, but it would be a really bad look on Fletcher to get a weak return for the centerpiece of the Giroux trade

Nah, Tippett's the player that was sold as the main returning piece back.
The draft pick might be (probably will be) more valuable than Tippett, but until that draft pick becomes anything, he's the face of that deal. Would be a very poor reflection on Fletcher to move him this early.
