Horvat

Description
If Horvat tells the Canucks he isn't re-signing.
Bruins re-sign Horvat 8 years x 8 per

Canucks insert Debrusk 1LW as they have Pettersen and Miller as a very solid 1-2 punch up the middle. There might be better offers out there for Horvat but not sure they'd get a proven scorer in return whereas a team like Colorado would likely offer a prospect + pick.

You’re playing David krejci at the wing. That should show you what a horrible fit this is.

Cmon man.

Oh, and there for sure wouldn’t be better offers. Again

Cmon man.

Here come the critics!! I'm sure Krejci can play wing or Horvat can slide over for the time being. Let me guess, You'd rather have Newhook and all his goals. Stop it.

Krejci cannot play wing. He doesn’t have the skill set. “Hey this guy has played the same position for 17 professional seasons, but I’m sure totally changing that won’t be a problem!”

Again, cmon man.

The Bruins do not have room on their roster for a center.
They also don’t have room for a top six winger on their roster, assuming horvat can play wing, which he really isn’t good at.

Horvat sounds like a great fit because of the long term need at center. It could not be a worse fit now, and this pricetag sucks.

A guy at TheHockeyNews was saying Horvat's deal is gonna be Tavares-esque. LOL.

That's a lot to pay for a Horvat rental that doesn't fill a position of need.

There’s no shot a rental gets a better offer than debrusk and a first. Zero.

Actually considering Boston's 2 top centers are 36 and 37 years old the center position will soon be Boston's biggest need by far. If they can get Horvat now either with an extension in place or a prearranged agreement to sign one immediately after the trade they'll do it.

Also Horvat would likely be the one to move to wing at first. Playing the wing will make it easier for him to learn new systems and build chemistry with his new teammates. Next year or later this year he'd move back to center.

DeBrusk is mid and the offer above says there's an extension

Similar roster player, similar pick, maybe a prospect (without a 3 million cap dump) for Horvat extended.

All well and good, but he’s a rental. Rental players get rental prices.

Mid? Mid what? Middle of the lineup? Hes been on the first line for the last 50 or so games and been pretty phenomenal there. For example, in 2022, Jake debrusk has 23 even strength goals. Bo horvat has 16.

Okay, who’s the similar roster player?

Not that I'm saying Canucks take the offer, but why do Bruins offer Horvat a 8m X 8 contract?

Oh man these Horvat to BOS trades need to stop, i'm seeing like 3 of these a day.

BOS has no need for Horvat, centre is the least position of need.

Want Horvat? Just get him when he's a FA and save the limited assets BOS have.

Not really. Bruins powerplay doesn’t exactly need a boost.

Over the duration of time that debrusk has been used in the role he’s currently used in, his production has been very comparable to horvats at even strength. What’s the issue?

These guys don't realize Horvat isn't a #1 centre. He is ideally a 2C. A 1st + Debrusk is almost too much to give up for an impending UFA.
