The Leafs would make that deal any day. Bring it on!

Why does Vegas take Haula? The Wild have so many better options to choose from.
Why does EDM make the Pommer trade?
Pommer+2nd+3rd for a 4th is essentially what the Wild are paying to get rid of a decent but $1.5m overpayed player. Bad deal for the Wild, retain some salary and he should be movable for a decent return.
I want nothing to do with even a half priced Niemi. Dallas would be better off just buying him out and keep their pick.
Do the Wild at least get some lube to go with the Tor and NJD trades?

      - Pommer got 47 points last yr vs pouliot who got 20 and they both have 2 yrs remaining
      - Buying out Niemi results in a cap hit next yr as well
      - Haula is Vegas' best option in this case wth do you think the wild in this case made all these deals, so they avoid losing better pieces without any return

Scandella is still left exposed. Much better option than Haula.
You traded Pouliot away to Car.
Niemi 1 year at $2.25m + 2nd or 2 years at $1.5m each. I'd keep my pick and spread out the smaller hurt over 2 seasons, the cost is only $750k more for a buyout.

Lose: Nino, Dumba, Pommer, and Haula (Scandella), 4th. Gain: Niemi, a 2nd, and 3 prospects that belong in the AHL.
4 quality NHLers (3 if you don't count Pommer) for a questionable backup goalie, a someday bottom-6 grinder (Wood), a small LW (Leipsic) that likely won't ever see the MN team because of it's depth at the position, and RW that will be fighting for ice time with Tuch, Kaprizov (1 yr away), and maybe Kunin at RW. All of these individual trade make the Wild a worse team, combined they miss the Playoffs. Lose 1 quality player to Vegas for free the Wild are still a Playoff team.
