Yeah, so exactly what we don't need lmao, particularly for the price youve listed

He's shooting 19% lmao. He isnt doing anything but getting lucky

No that’s exactly what we need actually. We can’t finish. The offence generation is there, or has been lately. Tavares and Nylander will be that on that line. He can also be a good offence generator as well. That would be a great line for the next two years

Olaf is terrible at 5v5 offense. Hes a PP merchant
Its a stupid team move

He has similar 5 v 5 production and PP production as Marner. Only 35% of Olofsson points are PP

He's actually been pretty good 5v5 this year - positive possession numbers, and 7 of his 9 goals scored at even strength. Not saying he's a possession monster or anything, but he's actually been a more all-around player this season. Plus, as OP said, he's aiming to get an offense-first player and Olofsson still remains a very good offensive player.

That being said, I think Buffalo would say yes even if you took either Hirvonen or the 1st out. The whole package is a bit much to ask and is paying a guy based on his hot streak to open the season as opposed to what he's more likely to provide in terms of future production.

No way, they signed Olofsson to 2 years for a reason. The Sabres have 6 LWers in Rochester rn and what's a late 1st going to matter. Move Olofsson to address the D depth. I'd still rather move Mitts to do that

We need offense generators from the bottom 6. You can't just stick guys to JT and AM and hipe for success. They need to be good independantly

The value is reasonable
But i don’t think the Sabres want to move Olofsson

If we did, it would probably be for a top4 RD to pair with Power,
or a decent goalie

I'd rather keep him, but the picks are probably enough

I mean he's a pretty good steady guy but what are you really trying to accomplish here?

The issue has been offence this season. Especially in the playoffs, the issue has been scoring at crucial times when our stars aren’t. This is a true contender move

(I mean if you read the second part of what I wrote I basically said the same thing and that the value is still good if you take out one of the two best assets in the deal)
If John Tavares could make Matt Moulson score 30 goals in each of 3 seasons, I would imagine he could make Olofsson get close to 40.
Regardless, Hirvonen would be decent prospect, but I think Karmanos would prefer the pick.
Make it the first, third and Engvall to balance the rosters reduce the cap hit to Toronto IMO would be fair.
Put Engvall on the fourth line and he would be the Sabre hit leader.
Buffalo adds a couple of picks and the Leafs get a scoring winger.
If Crowe can continue his magic, in three years, both the Sabres and Leafs will be very happy with this deal.

Ya know there's a lot of truth to that. I really like olofsson, but he has his limitations. He absolutely needs somebody to get him the puck in space, and right now we don't have a playmaking center to do that. It probably doesn't even need to be somebody as talented as Tavares, just somebody who is more of a playmaker.
