I cant think of 2 reasons to not do this move. Seattles d core is already top half in the league, and no way would they throw away their 23 1st on a rental. Even if they signed him long term i wouldnt give up their 1st

Agreed, also the Kraken are set to be a very young team on the rise who will probably have the same growth curve as the Ducks (in terms of their top-6 centers), no way they want to bolster their division rivals prospect depth.

Needless to say, I would accept this offer as the Anaheim GM. It's terrible for the Kraken.

absolutely, i look forward to the west being hell to play against again and rivalries to heat back up. while Edmonton, Vegas, Calgary are the big guys for the next majority of a decade, Anaheim, Los Angeles and Seattle will take their places in closer to 10 years from now when those teams step back.

Yes, it is a big move, but certainly not one that Leafs would make......not any other NHL team either
