I can’t figure out how to make this work. Perunovich arguably is better than Ville, but older and can’t stay healthy. It’s a big risk. Jets could be interested in Barbashev maybe but he’s UFA and his finishing is valuable in the bottom-6. This probably just won’t happen

I'd imagine there is zero chance the Jets trade Heinola for an LD they have no need of. It would need to be a top 9 forward.

Fair enough, maybe Barbashev if the blues slip but maybe the jets wouldn’t do that either

Ville will get his chance in Winnipeg. If you look long term, he looks to be a part of the future there. Bowness has also said that himself. It’s not a matter of if anymore, but when he gets his chance because he’s not going back down if he gets one.

Also, the only reason he’s not in the lineup now is because we already have 3 players who play a similar style. That won’t be an issue next year.
