all of zadorov tanev kylington and backlund are off the books along with hanifin and lindholms preexisting contracts ALONG with a likely 4 mil cap rise. i wouldnt say that

15 million between those two you’d think? Way more than that coming off the books and in cap raises. No real surprise raises coming. Flames have two years of all in with this roster and then they have a ton of flexibility.

you have 10 players signed the following year, meaning you need to fill 13 roster spots with 35 million in cap space. with those signings youd have 20 million to fill 11 spots and would have to replace your 1LD, 1RW, 3C, 3RW, 2RD and more

Pelletier, Zary, Schwindt, Coronato are all close to NHL ready, Flames are full of middle 6 prospects to fill the bottom of a roster. No one knows who is breaking out, underperforming, coming or going over two seasons it’s not nearly as bad as people want it to be.

Every guy in the above deals is on an expiring contract after next season. Not really the grand gutting you’re making it out to be. You’re reaching here

The 4 million cap rise is optimistic, last I heard 1.5 million this year, 4 million next year.

Whatever happens with cap, I don't want to be anchored to Timo and not be able to afford raises for any of these young guys you're bringing up.
