Ehlers is more well-rounded, but Guentzel can stay healthy and perform in the playoffs which Ehlers can't do.

Ehlers' advantages are that he is 1 1/2 years younger and has an extra year at $6M. However, Guentzel has been PPG for a number of years now, something Ehlers has not been able to do. You can use the excuse of linemates, but regardless, I would personally keep Guentzel.

Guentzel has some streakiness of a laine/Connor, you can’t go wrong with either, but injuries of ehlers is starting to get worrisome. As long as the vets are still in pit, they aren’t letting Guentzel out of the building. As a few posts have said, playoffs of Guentzel tips the scales.

Below 0.40 P/GP as a top line forward isn't all that impressive.

I’m taking Connor over guentzel. Age, contract, goal scoring all come to mind. Again guentzel will have the playoff success over him but for me I’m taking Connor. Connor had 47 last year and could do it again. Even with the slow start.

Idk about that. I’d say Connor is arguable.

I would take Ehlers just for the fact that he isn’t completely dependent on his linemates for his scoring. Take Crosby or Malkin away, whichever one Guentzel is playing with, and his numbers take quite the hit. Plus, I value defensive competency more than I value offensive skills.

there is definitely a conversation to be had. I'd say Connor is better than guentzel but it's closer than you think, and Guentzel and schiefele are probably around equal
