I personally wouldn’t do that if I was Detroit. Lindstrom is a good prospect still, and Erne is a good depth piece. Even though Garland is good, I don’t think they would need him with Perron, Bertuzzi, Raymond, and a healthy Fabbri, Kubalik, or Copp on the top 6 wings. I also wouldn’t want to take on 4.95M with Larkin, Bertuzzi, Seider needing extensions soon.

Detroit passes, Bo Horvat is our target, And there's already been some that have said that we're a top destination for him.

Value wise I'd do it but garland isnt exactly a trade target I'd be looking for.

We haven't paid our own center yet I'm not sure about adding another one

This would be assuming that Yzerman doesn't want to pay Larkin $9,000,000+ and he'd rather go after Horvat and pay him $8,000,000 per or so.

OH, Interesting.

There have been rumblings that Yzerman has been after Horvat since the 2021 Trade Deadline, This would be assuming that we don't get Larkin resigned.

I'd take that deal and run. But Adam Erne is Yzerman's son so he won't be traded. Stevie will likely give him an 8 year contract extension and perhaps even move him into his house.

Just curious to why Yzerman loves Erne so much.

Yzerman drafted Erne in Tampa. He traded for him when he got to Detroit. He gave Erne a nice contract extension and he'll likely give him another one this summer. I don't know why Yzerman loves Erne. He just does. A lot. He's never a healthy scratch.

I don't think he does, it just happens to look that way due to him staying healthy when everybody else has been injured. Erne hasn't had very much competition for a roster spot the last few years but it's different now. He'll likely be traded at the deadline, hopefully getting us a prospect in return.

Terrible for Vancouver, the Wings would be crazy to pass on this.

No we wouldn't. We don't have a replacement for Lindström and are extremely short of prospects on RD and Garland is currently producing less than the top two RW we have in Perron and Raymond. Paying players we need for a third line winger we don't need and who cost 6 million a year isn't a good idea.

We haven't a replacement for Lindstöm? Have you not been watching the games recently? Oesterle plays on the right side and so does Pysyk. Garland can play on the left side and isn't making 6 million.

Oesterle is a left shooter and a LD primarily. Oesterle is also one of the players that Yzerman will likely trade at the deadline.

On left wing we have Bertuzzi, Vrána, Kubalík, Berggren, Söderblom, Erne. On right wing we have Raymond, Perron, Sundqvist, Zadina. We do not have any use for a player that don't fit in our top-6.

Garlands salary the next two years are 6 million a year and the last year it's 5 million so you're wrong on that point too.

I agree with you that there should be more competition for the RD position. But Lindström is not replaceable? Pysyk plays on the right side as I said and Stevie can certainly find somebody for the 3rd pair. Or then there is Oesterle as well like I said. Wings getting a top 6 player in exchange for a 6-7 d-man and a bottom 6 player is a big dub. You don't think so?

Bertuzzi, Sundqvist, Erne have all expiring contracts and then there is Zadina as well. You are 100% sure that all of these guys has a roster spot in the future? Garland's contract ends in 25-26 and his Cap hit is 4,950,000. I don't think anybody cares about the actual salary other than the owners lol.

Ultimately I think Bertuzzi would be the biggest factor here. Idk what kind of money Bert is asking for but lets say: 7x7. Would you rather have a injury prone Bert till he is 35-36 making 7.000.000 or Garland's prime years for 4,950,000?sarcasm
