Well that is something we can agree on, Bailey has been terrible. Obviously Johnston is not the answer, time for a call up.

    I would call up Holmstrom

Highly doubtful Yzerman gives up both Kasper and a top 14th pick. For Horvat and Rathbone.

On most teams Horvat would be either 1C or 2C depending on what team he's being traded to, There's no way he's playing LW when most of his career is at center.

Centers move to wing all the time for the best of the team in a playoff run. Look at stamkos who goes back and forth between wing and center depending on injuries and team needs.

Thought so. Can replace Kasper with another combination of prospects. Main goal is to acquire as many 2023 picks as possible

Wood used to live with the Bedard’s. Cook story on NHL.com.

(Also, Devils pick 17th? If the rest of the season turns out that way, “Fire Lindy” chants might return)

I see them making the playoffs. I don't see them going too far though... I've had the privilege to watch Matthew Wood play on the Victoria Grizzles.

Juicer you from the Island? We've had a couple good young players come through the Grizz in the last few years. I can't want to see Bedard at Save on Foods next weekend, I ended up getting box seats for the game!

Right on man. I used to go to tryouts with Jodie out on the peninsula. I still have a clear memory of a conversation I was having with him in one of our bantam years where he told me I was the best player on the ice, of course I got cut anyways lol. I know a couple of people that are still friends with him and Jamie.

Lol, he has been a top 10 goalie in the league the past 2 years with basically a bottom 5 defense core. Nice to see some internet trolling

The defense core last year wasn't bottom 5

I suppose value is fine IF Demko plays at the same level as he's done going back to the bubble playoffs, very big if however.
But even if Demko were to return to form I wouldn't want the Devils to do your suggested trade, if offered.

I think Fitzgerald and his team are building something very special here.
I'd rather the Devils add that 2023 1st and Holtz to the core and keep it younger for a longer duration, while finding a complement to Vanecek via FA.
I think that course of action would allow the Devils better chances to become one of the most dominant teams of the cap era while being able to sustain that throughout the 20s.

FWIW can't see the Canucks moving Demko out so soon, think they'd have to be very bad for at least one more soon for such a move to be seriously considered.

Demko truly covered the holes on our defense core and it’s showing this year because it’s a sinking ship and Demko can’t save it this time

There are holes, nobody is denying that, but the forwards deserve a lot more accountability for the defensive struggles this year. Our defense core hasn't been the main culprit of what has cost the team games this season, it's been a combination of Demko's struggles and the forwards not playing down low enough in the defensive end mostly

    1st one looks good.
There is no way in hell you'll be g3tting Steve to give up former 8th Overall pick and the 12th overall pick, for someone he likes. He might give 12th, Wallander, Berggren.
Tyler Myers os not getting a 3rd even at 4million. Maybe if at 3m, but not from Anaheim, they are not buying nor need Myers. They have Klingberg, Shattenkirk, soon Drysdale. Like , can you trade him to a worse team?
Boeser may be able to fetch Bailey 1 for 1. So there's no way Garland is gonna fetch 15th overall, 2 2nds, a former 1st, and Palmieri. Dude cmon. He can probably fetch ya a 2nd and Holmstrom.
Canucks didn't sign Miller to trade him right after...values there tho.
Kuzmenko will get 2nd and 3rd max. No chance gets a 1st +.
    Last when is fine.

Sean Monahan will get a first ++but a far superior player like Kuzmenko has no chance of getting a first?

As for the Isles trade, it is unrealistic but the Isles are basically dumping Palmieri and Bailey which are worse the two worst contracts in the trade.

Kuzmenko is not far superior, he's a benefactor. He can't create anything himself. He's a complimentary piece.

    It still wouldn't cost a 1st and a 2nd to dump palmieri...

I will say kuzmenko is not a passenger.

Just have to comment on the contracts part, I’d take palmieri and his contract over Boeser. Palmieri is the better player.
