Agree 100%. Sucks to lose a good player, especially when they're starting the first of the season without 2 of their top 4 dmen, but twisting and turning trying to get a less than optimal return, to then go and lose someone like Silfverberg would be ridiculous. Would be nice to see Despres return healthy to fill one of those holes, but I like what you're doing here.

On Eaves-Love to have him back, but does that second year end up biting you in the butt when you start having to sign Theodore/Montour/Ritchie? Probably have to give him the second year to get him to sign, but it'd be great to only have to give him 1.

Disagree completely with this. Manson is needed because he is on a good contract for a budget team. Also if they Ducks sign Eaves to a 4 Million deal for 2 years Bob Murray will be fired. You don't pay a one time 30 goal scorer who is on the wrong side of 30 to that big of a contract. Lastly, the only thing I agree with is getting rid of a Defenseman for cheap. I know Vatanen is injured severely but I think a team that needs a defenseman and has assets like Tampa Bay that wants a good puck moving defenseman, or Detroit for Tatar. I still think we can get a good return on that Vatanen. Especially Detroit since they are rebuilding anyway.

You will be way over the cap when lindholm and vatenen come back. Your gonna have to trade someone and I can tell ya nobody is gonna trade for Franson.

I could live with it. Though in order to protect Vatanen we would still have to get BXA to waive. If that is the case we can trade Manson if we are going to lose him anyway. The same could be said Vatanen really. Would you rather take a little less on Vats and keep Manson or vice versa? Either situation has BXA waiving. It's not like LV would pass on Vatanen because he will miss a few months of his remaining 3 years of contract.

I also tend to feel you overpaid for Eaves, Though I would like him back but I wouldn't touch anything over 3 for 2 or 3 years at most. Also no need to sign Franson, if we needed another D for that money I would target Stone well before Franson.
