Top prospect, a 1st, a 3rd, and a young roster player for a guy who broke the 20 goal mark once, five seasons ago.

That's just nuts and not something that I could imagine the Oilers, or any team, being interested in. I'd also argue that Arizona, who's already retaining on OEL for the next 5 seasons, is going to want a hell of a lot more than a late 2023 1st to eat $13.75M *and* tie up 2 of their 3 retention slots for the next half a decade.

I don't disagree that Anderson at $2.75M is a much more palatable contract, one that might even have some upside.

I *do* disagree that there's anything here that would get a 3rd team in to retain that 5x$2.75M.

Love Anderson as a player and would love to have him on our team at $2.75.
However Edmonton isn't going to pay this much for him, Bourgault looks great for us so he's likely removed from the deal (also MTL would need to do the retention, doubt ARZ does them this favour).

Something like:
Pulji + 1st '23 + 3rd '25 + Foegele/Yama for Anderson ($2.5 Retained) + Evans would make more sense.

Pulji + 3rd '25 for Anderson.
1st '23 for retention.
Yama/Foegele for Evans.
