That is an insane ask for Meier...You have to understand that....There is no way the Devils should give anything close to that.

That Karlsson trade is intriguing but he doesn't fit our system so I'm not sure it makes sense.

Habs should do that. I know people will think it's an over ask, but find me a player like Hertl in our system or show me where we are gonna draft one. It's an EASY yes IMO.

EDIT: Wait... how and when did Hertl turn 29... actually no, probably too old for the Habs rebuild window.

Nobody in that Leafs trade gets you Knies. 13th forward, 7th defenceman, and 3rd line winger. What if the Leafs offered Jarnkrok, Simmonds, and Kral for Eklund? You wouldn't take that would you.

What in the world would make you think that a 29-year-old bottom-pairing minimum-contract defenseman with only 105 NHL games' experience would be worth a second-round draft pick?!?!?

Megna is worth half of what Anaheim paid for Dimitri Kulikov.

He's not even offering to take back contracts like hoffman and armia, that's very bad for montreal from whichever angle you look at it

I LOVE Hertl. I would have loved the Habs to sign him. But I recognize, we are 2-4 years away from a really deep playoff run. Hertl will be 31-33. Just not a good fit for that reason. Hertl is 90% as good as Suzuki IMO. Different skill sets, but a real 1-2 punch.

He still came up with a trade where he didn't think he'll have to take both hoffma and armia if he's asking for that ridiculous price

I'd be ready to give up that much for EK and that kind of retention but hard to see the Sharks retain that much

Of course they should, 2 late first and get rid of Price contract to get Tomas Hertl. This is highway robbery

Do the deal and trade Hertl later, you'll probably trade him for more and you're getting rid of Price contract...

Simoneau, Pezzetta and Mysak are not worth anything. Xhekaj a bit more but nothing outrageous

There is not a single asset, in the entire San Jose Sharks organization, that I would trade Luke Hughes for.
