That garbage doesn't get Jakob Chychrun.

And the style Edmonton plays, A smallish forward like Gallgher would get roughed up.

He's what everyone wants Yamamoto to be, being from Edmonton I don't see how he can't fill the whole that's been there since Eberle

He's always negative on his replies, don't worry about him. He's the CapFriendly's Grinch.

Feel like Edmonton is getting ripped in the Montreal trade Gallagher contract is actually much worse then the Barrie one.

That trade with the habs is really bad for the oilers.

Buffalo could trade Olofsson for Barrie and a first.
Olofsson is three years younger, his contract is $1,750,000 less, and Olofsson has more goals and points in the past two years than Gallagher has in the past three years (29/60 v 24/55).
The Oilers get a more productive player, with a lower cap, for fewer assets.
Just a thought, looking for feedback!

You know what the problem with 90% of CapFriendly users is? They seem to think they can predict future points and injuries and try boil a players value down to his cap hit based on those predictions. They only see the negative side of things rather than the whole picture. Sure at 28 and the play style Gallagher plays could mean he never plays out his contract or he never scores more than 20 goals again but he has just might do both, see Theo Fleury for proof of this. The point is no one can predict the future but everyone will tell you they can.

Gallagher would look great on Draisaitl right wing. Probably could get a few more 30 goals seasons camping the front of the net for Draisaitl.

He's a working horse and sacrificed himself for MTL, imagine what he would do for hometown Edmonton.

It's not the player its the contract and value of the trade the OP is suggesting. Gallagher has been a 0.4 PPG player over his last ~100 games who currently making 6.5M for 4.5 more years.. that's not a contract that nets you a 1st and 2nd regardless of a dump going the other way. Closer trade would be Gallagher+Wideman(plus something cause Gallagher contract is bigger risk) for Barrie+one of the Oilers ~3M forwards
