The Blues have neither the cap nor the need for Holl. And I fail to see why Anaheim would have any interest in that.

What would you consider Andersons value?

I'm not in the "Anderson is a 1st + top prospect!!!" camp, but I also think he's worth more than other fanbases suggest.

Based on the reported interest around the league, I think a 2nd + okay prospect is what other teams would offer. But again I hope the Habs aren't being too greedy because according to LeBrun last deadline, they're not moving him unless it's a very good return, and I'm scared of having a 33 year old Josh Anderson and a 35 year old Brendan Gallagher when the team starts competing.

Y'all seem to be under the delusion that just because Elliot Friedman made an offhanded comment on 32 thoughts that Vatrano is available, or that Kerfoot waives for Anaheim, or that Kerfoot has any value to Anaheim, or that you think Verbeek would touch that deal.

We JUST signed the guy to a three year deal, do you have any idea how bad it looks to ship out a guy who just signed here for term?

Last season's 50 pt Alex Kerfoot we might have been able to do something with. This season's Kerfoot is vastly underperforming his cap hit.

Which begs the question, why do Leaf fans?

We’ve already got Rielly here till he is 36 (now has a knee injury) to deal with. I’ll never get why people like Anderson (I mean I do, he is big) lol

Leafs are not currently scouting the Habs games. There has not been a TOR scout at any of the games recently.

My reasoning is that the Leafs are competing right now unlike the Canadiens, so they get to use his last prime years whereas they'd be wasted on a bottom-feeder.

I would do the Anderson deal but without Robertson. Also, leafs pass on that anaheim deal. Kerfoot is the much better player and they shouldn't want the Vatrano deal moving forward unlike expiring Kerfoot.

The Lesfs need scoring, do you believe Anderson will provide that?

I found this stat hilarious

Vatrano was available to every team in FA; no one wanted him and he wasn’t signed until 2 weeks in and only then by the bottom feeding ducks. Dude is an ave bottom 6 winger at best, and for that role he is over paid ; let’s not make him out to be anything more than that.
Guess we’re already in the season of non playoff team fans over valuing their players unsure .

Since he was acquired by Montréal, his 5v5 production (per 60) is on par with what most people agree are "good secondary scoring" - Mikheyev, Beauvillier, Iafallo, Olofsson, Kreider.

He's never been much of a PP guy tho, which is coincidentally not what the Leafs need.

Yeah that certainly doesn’t get a guy that was signed for multiple years only 19 games ago

I get the feeling he is either EDM or CGY bound anyways. IF he plays to his potential, I’ll gladly take a young Knies on a ELC that will be our power forward.

He was the very first guy we signed at the start of free agency, where is this "He wasn't signed until 2 weeks in" libel coming from?
He's a fine middle 6 winger, and he has a beautiful shot. He is paid about right for what he brings to the table.

My bad. Forgot that FA started late this year.
I think there is a tendency for all teams that are out of the playoffs to over value their players. Just don’t see him moving the needle for the Leafs which is what we need, imo

That's even more fitting then. In that same span, he ranks 39th in 5v5 G/60

So Vatrano is paid about right for what he brings (6 points in 19 games) but Kerfoot is vastly underperforming his caphit (6 points in 20 games). For your sake, you'd better hope Frank has a 10 point outing tomorrow

That's just too selective. He had 19 in 63 (injury), 17 in 52 (covid season), 19 in 69 (injury & worst season in team's history). It's not like he's usually a 5 goals scorer who put up 20 once.

The usual nonsense of trading a Dman and not getting one back in return. Anderson, way too much to give in the trade, and is 5.5m X for over 4 years totally unneeded.

The guy spends multiple months on the shelf every year, hasn't played a full 82 since his CAREER HIGH 47 point season. All I'm reading is a lot of excuses for a guy signed for 5 more years who doesn't have 50 points in a season yet. Looks like a potential contract dump if he doesn't figure it out soon, 7 points so far this year playing only 14 minutes is tough

Value aside, he's certainly not a dump. The Habs received many good offers at last year's deadline, they just didn't pull the trigger.

I'm just saying that maybe they should have, GMs will likely always pay since hes a big body who can skate but another injury or another down season could be dangerous for his value
