Description
With Reily going on LTIR today they REALLY need some help on defense which is why I think they would pay a kings ransom for Walker, a second isn't too crazy but a 5th might be a little much.

Two seconds for a defenseman who is currently struggling and on a team that is struggling as well as being in his final season of his contract is think is pretty fair.

Turcotte and Roslovic are both still toss ups if they will make anything of themselves in the NHL but i think Jack is further along that's why the third is thrown in there. If Iafallo is projected to be back I would say forget about this trade lol

Lemieux..... I mean do I have to say anymore......?

And finally bring Kurtis back to add some toughness in exchange COL gets a decent young center.

I wouldn't mind Lemieux back with the Jets but I doubt management has any interest in bringing him back.

Orlov would definitely fetch a first at the deadline. He's been injured during our recent slide, and he hasn't been struggling in the slightest. He's one of the better shutdown defenseman that can still skate and push the puck up the ice. The conversation doesn't start without a first on the table

Walker and that contract are not worth a second.

And I doubt Winnipeg wants Lemieux back. Tkachuk straight up murdered whatever reputation he may have had, and he lacks the skill to dig it back up.

I was thinking of the best places to send him and to be honest back to the jets or back to the rangers seemed like the only places that would take him lol

Orlov is definitely an offensive defenseman with 8 or his last 10 season having 30+ points.....

I like him just fine. He seems like a really nice dude. Great fighter too.

I just don't want him anywhere near my hockey team. The guy is terrible at hockey.

How did Tkachuk murder Lemieux's reputation?

Also what is or was Lemieux's reputation exactly?.. lol

What's wrong with "that contract?" It was unanimously considered to be a steal when it was signed, and he hasn't gotten any worse. He has looked good so far this season.

Los Angeles Kings signed Sean Walker (4 Years / $2,650,000 AAV)

He is definitely not there to play hockey. He is there to keep guys like Soucy, Mcnabb and Zadorov who are all in our division in line.

Look up the biting controversy. After that there were people who used to work with him that had stories.

Basically, the guy's a ****, and he pisses off everyone he plays with.

There are plenty of 30 point defensemen out there. Orlov stands out from that crowd because of his defensive ability to pair with it, especially in transition. Otherwise, I'm sure you could get Shayne Gostisbehere for what you're willing to move.

The guy's not a $2.6M dollar player due to his unfortunate injury history.

A bottom pairing Dman at $2.6M (who would likely be a 7th on the Leafs when they're fully healthy) doesn't get that kind of value.

There's better options than MacDermid that aren't defensive liabilities while they're on the ice.

He's a quality two-way defenseman that has shown by his recent play that he hasn't been slowed by his recent injury. A lot of guys (Rasmus Kupari for example) had the exact same injury and returned to be just fine. If he were 35, it might be an issue, but he's only 28.

The injury that caused him to miss time two years ago was a Matt Dumba slapshot to the face. Needless to say that was a separate issue than his knee injury last season.

Not to mention that he's a quality two-way RHD, which are hard to find in the NHL. He's only a bottom pairing guy on the Kings because they're lucky enough to have Doughty and Roy in front of him. He'd be a quality #4 guy on most teams in the league, including the Leafs.

Jonathan Quick debunked this. He said that Lemieux is well-liked in the locker room and is a real stand-up guy.

His on-ice antics are questionable, and he takes a few too many untimely penalties for my liking, but he's not a guy that's disliked by his teammates like Sean Avery was.

I think the Leafs are in a position where they wont have a choice. Their top 3 dmen are out and 2 of those are long term, if they want any chance of making the playoffs they WILL have to add someone and they WILL have to pay a premium for whoever they add. There are other RD out there available but of all available Walker has the better upside.

This is all so wrong lmao other than the direct fact that 3 dmen are hurt

Is Orlov struggling? I don't think so. He's one of the guys playing fairly well if I'm not mistaken. Perhaps a Caps fan can shed more light.

That Roz trade is going to depend a lot on what Kekalainen thinks of Turcotte's chances. I remain overwhelmingly skeptical and hesitant 'cause of his concussion issues. But if the actual decision makers think his chances are better than a coinflip or something, I could see the Jackets gleefully taking that one.

Of course if LA has a similar evaluation of his chances then I doubt that ever gets offered. grin
