Tear it down

Created by: MNBassman
Team: 2022-23 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 23, 2022
Published: Nov. 23, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Anyone who thinks the Wild, even at full strength, is a legitimate Cup contending team needs to share their weed with me! They simply are not! If you want this team to EVER be more than mediocre, they need to take a step backwards in order to make a leap forward in 2-3 years! These are moves I would be pursuing…

All trades are starting points…in need of tweaking.

Just so I understand this -- you have the best player in franchise history who's just getting started, and you want to trade him?

Kaprizov is worth so much worth than just a 1st and Norris. Plus, your adding on the Zaitsev Contract.

Kirill (25) is at the very worst, arguably a top 5 winger in this league, with 3 years remaining after this one, at a great cap hit for what he brings. How on Earth is he only fetching a pick outside of the top 5, an injured 2C and Zaitsev, who seems like he'd cost at least a 1st to dump?

The Foligno-Knies trade doesn't make much sense to me either. Foligno is worth more than Knies imo, especially at the deadline and in this scenario, Minnesota would likely be giving up a pick potentially 20+ spots higher than the one Knies was originally selected with. Knies is worth more than the late 2nd he was selected with but he's not worth this much, especially when in this scenario, with the Wiod selling, Toronto would likely be the team calling Minnesota

Outside of those two, I can at least see the vision with these moves, even if I don't personally like/agree with them

Is Foligno just bad this season or a product of the environment. If he plays anything like he did last season I sure wouldn't mind seeing him in Flames silks come deadline day.

I disagree completely with your Foligno take. I see his game fading fast and I believe he is just beginning his decline.
