Habs Moves by the Deadline

Created by: SnowCat
Team: 2022-23 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 22, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Not an expert on prospects so only going to focus on draft picks

Dadonov's a free agent. Fourth is probably best-case scenario for Montreal and New Jersey just adds depth

Dumping Armia to Phillie to go along with the other bad contracts they have with term and give up a late fourth and what will probably be a high third.

Calgary has already called Montreal on Hoffman to try and boost their PP, so Calgary dumps a bit of cap and gets what they think they need.

Edmonton gets better defensively on both sides, they dump Barries awful cap hit which can allow them (if they keep Kane out till playoffs) to make a bigger deadline move.

Dvorak has had a steady start to the year, so he could fetch more in time, but for now, he can play 3C or Danaults wing and fits decently well with how LA plays

Drouin won't get you much. He's not resigning so just gotta send him somewhere.

I wouldn't be against Monahan being resigned but if he's traded, the Islanders feel like a fit to boost their offense while not being liable defensively.

These trades take away lots of centre depth for the Habs, which could lead to certain prospects like Kidney or Mysak getting a shot.

Kings have no room at center, no need for this trade

Aside from Kaiden Guhle and Jordan Harris, who should be untouchable, the only Canadien in whom we'd be interested is Joel Edmundson. We have four centers on the main roster now, plus at least two guys who can play there in a pinch (Kupari, Vilardi) and at least six guys who can play LW on the main roster, so Dvorak is entirely unwanted.
