What do you do with the cap when reilly is back in 3 weeks

Leafs can exceed the cap with Muzzin on LTIR anyways. So Reilly coming back does not chance much. That said it does mean Muzzin cant return till playoffs but lets be real that guy probs aint coming back this year at all as a neck injury like that be no joke.

Niemela is looking like a Dman who will be in the NHL in 2023 and if there was a 2020 redraft probs a late 1st pick, we have our 1st, and Engvall is the roster player.

If Arizona asks for more teams will go nah as if anyone wanted him they would have paid. Plus During his seven-year NHL career, Chychrun has had ankle surgery, shoulder ligament surgery, a concussion, two wrist surgeries and surgeries on both knees. Big red flags right there for a 24 year old Dman

Uhh no. They want a young roster player worth a damn, not an okay veteran UFA 3rd liner. They want an A prospect, not a B/B- prospect. And with your 1st being very late, those other two pieces better be legit.

Now, if you want to say he's not worth all that or not worth the risk because of injuries, then I will agree with you all day and into tomorrow. But this 1st + Niemela and Engvall offer is nooooot gooooood.

Arizona would likely accept this deal. It meets the technical ask and would reunite Knies with his best friend (Josh Doan) and his college linemate (Logan Cooley). Makes a lot of sense.
