Essentially the same offer i made, just switched from a 3rd to a 2nd and Canuck fans pretty much scoffed at it.

Just wait for him to get to FA. I don't want Detroit to trade for him.

Too much for me. But I think it's fair for the Canucks to expect that type of return. I just don't want Yzerman paying it. I'm sure Jarmo in Columbus will. I'd only pay this price if we were a Horvat away from being a Cup contender. We're nowhere near that stage.

Detroit won't trade Wallinder, right now he's playing better than Edvinsson.

To me, that kid is damn near untouchable... he's going to be a stud...

Yzerman could manipulate Rutherford into a better deal. The values there but Stevey seems to have dirt on every gm in the league so hell for sure find a way to fleece.

I just can't give up Wallinder. He has way too much upside.

I have seen similar trades to this before and I think the more reputable and rational canucks fans see this as a pretty solid offer. In fact this one is more expensive a return than other Detroit offers that I'm fine with.
We are on a website where people scoff at literally everything. You gotta filter through the critique who knows what they are talking about.

I could be talked into Sebrango. I like him too. But his ceiling is much lower than Wallinder's.

I think the chances of Bo making FA are slim.
Either he resigns in Vancouver, or he stays with the team that trades for him.

Its completely fair if y'all don't need to trade for him, but I would be shocked if he's someone you guys can "wait it out" for.

That's completely fine why give up that much for a single player? I'm perfectly fine with not giving up 3 1st round picks for Horvat.

That's what negotiation is all about. Both teams present their case and work to the middle.

It's also something we rarely see on this website. I credit the detroit fans for being willing to offer suggestions rather than just outright shutting down the offers like 99% of the other posts on here.

I'm fine with just Ras, 1st, 2nd. It sounds like other detroit fans have a bit of a buffer that they're okay with. I know you're a bit more conservative with what you want to trade, and that's fine.
I'm just stating my case that waiting for Bo to hit FA and expecting to get him is unlikely.

That's probably true, but it's a gamble worth taking. If he makes it to FA, then we take our shot and if someone else trades for him and extends him, so be it. It just wouldn't be good asset management by Detroit to be making a trade like that at this stage of the rebuild, even if the player is worth the assets.

We're nowhere close to competing for a Cup. So there's no need to overpay for Horvat. If he's available in UFA then we'd be foolish to not try to sign him. Lots of teams will do the same.

Do I think he'll be re-signed by the team who trades for him? Yes. But Bo Horvat isn't Connor McDavid or Auston Matthews. Missing out on trading for him won't devastate the Red Wings. Stevie will simply move on to his next target. He'll still keep building through the draft and being patient while surrounding his prospects with good vets.

Horvat would fit perfectly in Detroit. But I think he'd be a great fit wherever he goes. I also believe there's a trade to be made with Detroit and Vancouver. I'd rather just not see it happen because as I said, it's too much for me. It doesn't mean other teams won't pay that price. Horvat is a very good player.

That is fine if Detroit doesn't get him they don't get him no big deal. With the way Kasper is playing it makes no sense to give up multiple 1st round picks for a player we don't need.

100% agree. Detroit fans are fun to talk to on here because they're reasonable and offer counter trades or explanations why they wouldn't give up "X" value.

Most fans on here just give the "X gm laughs and hangs up" type of response which is not helpful or fun discourse.

Wings don't touch that. They're not a contender this year and can try for Bo in free agency. But with Kasper on the way they'll prob just stay the course
