Raty gets you timo. Not a former 5th round pick that can barely score in the A. Bolduc is decent but the last thing SJ needs to add is another LHD. Doesn't address any of SJs needs at all and we're losing Merkley in the process Who is our only RHD prospect that's worth a damn.

Conclusion: very easy no and it's not close.

6 goals in 14 games is barely scoring ? Frank seravelli reported today that Meier won’t get more then Debrincat returned in a trade. This trade is more than fair, the only way San Jose gets Raty is if the isles only have to add a 2nd or 3rd pick. You aren’t getting a 1st and Raty

They can’t afford spending more picks/prospects especially on dumping contracts, everyone in the league knows their situation, they would have to pay a Denisenko to dump Hörnqvist or something similar, can’t imagine they’ll do that.

#1 who cares what Frank says, if he's right it means SJ keeps Meier and doesn't get fleeced unless Grier is desperate for some reason
#2 debrincat trade was 7OA, 39OA, 3rd in 24'. This offer is well under that and raty+1st prob would be too assuming it's a late 1st rounder. Or what am I missing?

Maybe this is enough for a Grier blowup but no way Merkley is being thrown in. I kind of agree it would take more to pull the trigger

I’m sure they’ll do just that. No reason to lose a cheap 20 goal scorer for a measly 4th.

Meier has a 10 mill QO and is 1 year from UFA, the sharks don't have as much leverage as you think.

The isles would laugh at raty and a 1st. Merkely can be taken out of this trade, isles don't need him anyways. The original trade without merkley is very realistic

If Grier thinks he can actually extend Meier then he's not going to accept a low value return. It's more likely he resigns in SJ. If Meier wants out/insists on a 10m contract beyond 1 yr length then OK he gets traded for less value due to lack of leverage but it's wishful thinking by all these ACGMs to assume he wants to leave SJ and then sign the same size contract on another team. The leverage SJ has is they don't want to trade Meier. He is exactly the type of player Grier wants and is their top scoring forward.

The sharks won’t be a playoff team for at least the next 5 years, if Grier is smart he won’t extend Meier.

No sign of aggressive rebuild yet but guess we'll see this TDL. I think he will keep SJ big guns to stay somewhat competitive and sell tickets while trading away lessor pieces but maybe I'll be surprised.

I would do Raty 2023 2nd and 2024 2nd

Five years is a massive stretch. Most of our games this year are one goal games with our current roster which is worse than the last 3 years. Pulling numbers out of your ass doesn't make them realistic kid. You think you're a know it all but you're just another capfriendly user.

The sharks have an old team and a few elite players they have (Karlsson, Hertl) won’t be elite in a few years. You won’t have a #1 defenseman or 1C , they will need to rebuild through the draft.

These are just the facts, there’s a lot of evidence to back it up.
