Initial Creation Date: Nov. 24, 2022
Published: Nov. 24, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Find our potential future top 6 C, improved our offence while also finding a solid Carlo replacement for the rest of the season. Just have to hope Mast can be that future Carlo replacement

I feel Ottawa might take this as they are already deep offensively but lack on the defensive side and with Zub potentially walking they need to find a strong defensive replacement partner for one of chabot or sanderson

Sens declline. They won’t include Pinto for Chychrun, he was the deal breaker, they sure as hell are not moving him for Carlo

Caps jump for joy.

Sens can't afford to trade Pinto. They need to build a 2-way hockey team and Pinto is probably going to end up their best forward defensively (or 2nd behind Norris)

DeBrincat should be available

Could take Carlo and a forward next off-season. DeBrusk? Or too late after his season debut?

Whether Carlo has more value than Pinto right now I honestly don't know. But Ottawa will not trade Pinto no matter what.

Pinto is a potential top-six Nico Hischier-type player. Carlo has pretty much peaked.

But Ottawas biggest weakness is RHD especially with the talks of an extension with zub seeming slim and their deepest position is C so they ideally would value RHD more and would probably overpay slightly for one of Carlos caliber

Cool, top four D with term on a good deal> Well, he has potential!

I think pinto will be a very good player, but that’s just not how trade markets work. The sure thing is more valued.

Dallas wouldn’t trade Miro Heiskanen for Erik Karlsson in 2018

Teams use projection regarding young players and that’s how they value them. I am quite good (made plenty of money with hockey cards that way) at it so I suppose NHL teams even more…

Did Erik Karlsson have term in 2018? No. Doesn’t really have anything to do with what i said.

Congrats on your hockey card collection.

Well, as it happens right now if they trade Pinto the center position will look something like this:

Stutzle
Brassard
Gambrell
Kastelic

Bottom line...right now we need Pinto more than anything.

I didn't talk about a collection? I said I have made money with speculation...

Anyway, projecting players is absolutely possible. Some people can do it, which is why it's possible that Ottawa values Pinto more than Carlo based on where they are in their careers and also contractually.

That's more HOW it works.

Don’t like the Ottawa trade. Would like the Caps trade if it was Smith and a 4th for Hathaway. LOVE some of the previous posts LOL!

I think Hathaway and then potentially a 3rd line upgrade over Freddy and we are set.
