Gee, Myers must be bad if the Canucks retain 3m, and basically get nothing for him in a trade, though I like your thought on the trade and some team might bite.
Gotta think Minni would prefer 6.75m in cap than taking on Boesner next season.

Minnni has one top 6 forward who is a right handed shot (Hartman) I think Boeser will fit in very well with their group

Hartman is not a top 6 forward…he just plays one for the Wild…

Minnesota doesn't have the cap. Plus boeser isn’t who they need

You are correct, Myers is that bad. He's not even good enough to get this return. He isn't worth anything at 50%. He might take Hollowell out of the lineup but no one else.

They don't once you consider that we have to resign Boldy, Addison, plus others.

14m in cap with 8 players to sign isn't a lot at all.

Yeah, it's easy if you underpay players and don't bring back everyone that will be back or kept.

Addison is a about $1M too low, and two years too short.

Boldy is $1M too low on a 5 year deal. He's going to cost $7.5M minimum on anything longer than a 4 year bridge.

You didn’t bring back our 1B/backup goaltender Gustavsson, who's only 24 years old and been extremely solid for us this year. That's another $2M right there.

Then there's still depth to consider and paying for that.

You’re overestimating all those salaries. Addison is based on liljegren, Sandin, durzi, etc. pretty safe comprable. Boldy is good but not a point per game guy, not comparable to a guy like Robertson who signed at 7.5. A 1 million discount there is suitable, or even more if it’s a 3 year bridge instead.

Gustavson hasn’t earned $2 million imo. His qualifying offer is sub $1 million. So whether it’s him resigning at his QO or wallstedt being brought up, the wild can easily have a back up for under 2 million

Addison is fifth in the Calder race right now, just behind Sanderson. They're literally tied in points right now. None of those players listed were Calder contenders. Where is the comparable there?

You haven't watched Boldy much at all if you think he doesn't get $7.5M. Robertson isn't a good comparable in this instance as that was well-known underpay because the Stars ownership is cheap. Fiala got more than Robertson did from LA and that was a fair contract.

Boldy and Fiala are in the same tier. A $6.5M contract on a 3 year bridge deal is however fair.

Did you not notice that backup goaltenders are routinely getting $2-3M on the open market for the last 3 years? $2M is the going market rate for backups these days.

Addison is barely scoring at a higher clip than durzi was last year. Addison has 6 points in his first 4 games of the season and has 4 in his last 16. Fo you really think he’s a 40 point caliber player? Much more likely he finishes around 20-30 points, making durzi and excellent comparable
Fiala was coming off a bridge deal and was one year away from UFA with arbitration rights. Boldy is coming off of an ELC with no Arb rights 5 years away from UFA and has never scored a point per game. 7.5 is too much unless it’s 8 years like Suzuki or Keller or hischier signed.

There are plenty of back up goalies that are sub or equal to $1 million when they are re-signed has an RFA. Current examples like Malcom Subban, Sam montembeault, or Jonas johanson all signed short term deals for a million or less after being a back up goalie for less than a season.

Imo, no chance that Leafs are trading for Myers, even with retention neutral absolutely no chance they give up a 2nd

They have been linked to him this season but really that’s more of an “any team” kinda trade

Linked by who? And I think “any team” is in the same boat - Canucks will have to pay to offload Myers or at the very least NOONE gives up a 2nd to help Canucks cap mess

Look at the trade, the Canucks are attaching a 3rd and 4th to get a 3rd team to retain down to 1.5 million. No one is helping the Canucks in this case. They are eating half his salary and giving up more picks than they get back. Myers at 1.5 million has value, obviously. Just like a guy like chiarot did last year.

As for the rumour, here is a link to a discussion around the rumour and a link to the source https://www.google.com/amp/s/theleafsnation.com/news/amp/dissecting-the-leafs-rumoured-interest-in-tyler-myers
