Not sure what Ducks fans think but I will try this

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
TOR
  1. Henrique, Adam ($2,900,000 retained)
  2. Kulikov, Dmitry
Additional Details:
With the Ducks officially in the Bedard sweeps......

1. Henrique is simply not going to be part of the Ducks long term future. A very, very, serviceable top y forward who can play centre and plays 200 feet. I think Verbeek moves him if the Leafs offer up Robertson - who as this point for reasons unknown cannot stick in the line up.

Kulikov is going to be moved on an expiring deal..... and he is the type of D the Leafs need.

Leafs move Engvall simply because they have to (max # of contracts), and for the Ducks, is an NHL forward if they opt not to use a kid. Understood here that long term, Engvall is of no value to the Ducks short of trade fodder at the deadline for a late pick.

Since the Ducks are retaining on Henrique, and I feel that Roberston is more than enough to get him, as well as Kulikov netting a 3rd on his own, the 1st is moved to the retention.

They would probably need a bit more just because they are retaining for 2-years.

What is the definition of a bit more?

I am not a fan of moving picks (although in this case you have to) as the Leafs, well, have none lol.

Idk, could be a pick or a prospect. Based of your analysis I wouldn't agree that Robertson is enough for Henrique because Anaheim is going to be greedy, especially because they are losing a retention spot next year. Yes, you did pay with the first for the retention itself but there's still some potential lost there.

I personally don't like that trade for the Leafs as is at all. If they are giving up Robertson, then they should be giving up more picks instead of the 1st.

I would accept that offer as the Anaheim GM if the pick were the 2023 first-rounder.

Maybe if they added a 3rd instead to the above offer it would be attractive enough.

-Robertson+ 2024 1st for Henrique (overpay imo but it is what it is)
-The "3rd" for Kulikov should be considered paid for above but not necessarily, might require a late pick.
-3rd for the retention (instead of a 4th which would be the cost for retention if he was a ufa, so a 3rd instead of two 4ths)

I'd add SDA to the trade and do it.

You're analysis is correct, Henriques time on the team was signaled to be limited with the signings of Strome and Vatrano, and Kulikov is a pending UFA. As was mentioned by my fellow Anaheim fans, we are really looking for another 1st in this year's draft.

With respect to SDA, we really do not need any more center prospects, our average center age in our top 9 is only 21 years old. SDA does have experience on NA ice which Verbeek values, but he is rather lacking in size. I think we'd rather have a 3rd round pick than SDA, as we may start using our picks to try and trade for roster players were interested in.

Then I'd accept immediately tbh. Add a 3rd to the original deal and I'd accept too.

Given the lack of Leaf picks, I am not a fan of moving a 3rd here, unless it includes a Kulikov extension.

Reluctant to move a 2023 1st here too. Deep draft, which is why the Ducks would value it. Get that. Why I opted to move Robertson...... simply a winger with the offensive upside that could be dynamic with Zegras. Even with limited time in Toronto, he looks to pace for a 40 point season which equals what Henrique would do. The hit here for the Ducks is defensive capabilities.
