Guerin was supposed to trade him in last season, but he preferred trade Fiala, now the value Dumba is falling.

MTL would but you wont get the value you want without it coming via Mailloux.
Wideman,Mailloux , 2nd round pick in 2023 and 2nd round pick in 2024 as i dont think he'll do a sign and trade.
Others may pay more but without MIN RS or taken someone back of equal cap hit then i dont see a ton of cap compliant teams left for 6m.

That or Savard and a 1st if Dumba does a sign and trade.
But really its just bad timing for MTL as i dont think he's the guy to play beside Ghule anymore then Savard is.
I do think however he'd elevate Harris's game and could compliment Matheson .
I dont think he'd play well with Eddy or Xhekaj but i've been wrong before lol

Really Erik Karlsson or Sean Durzi are the only one's MTL overpaying to get makes sense.
Karlsson is an extreme cost but in a timeline that works for MTL up until the final year in regards to term.
Durzi aka Suzuki's former Teammate and Bestfriend who cause mayhem on the Power Play in Junior just seems like he's also compliment Ghule's style

I don't expect to get much for him. I'd be shocked if it's a 2nd n prospect. 50% retain is almost a gimme right now to trade him.

If you retain and/or are willing to take back Holl, Toronto might be willing to work out a deal. Would be willing to give up a second or prospect, maaaaaybe even a first rounder. If you just want him gone at full salary though, that won’t work.

While i agree we should've shipped out Dumba by now and kept Fiala, it was not that simple

shipping dumba out still couldn't see how we would be able to have kept fiala.
