The "bad team excuse" is only an excuse for positions that are event-driven, like forwards and offensive blueliners. Those guys can be measured pretty well and there's many ways to isolate versus team quality and similar factors, 'cause there's lots of events and thus more data to work with. For positions that are about nonmeasurable acts and event prevention - like, defensive defensemen - public analytics are well known to be of near-unusably poor quality. Like, almost as bad as +/- poor.

Funny now you guys say that about Engvall but he hits more than half the scrubs you trade for every day. Like Domi, you guys love him and see him and this physical guy who'll hit and forecheck and all this stuff that he doesn't do but Engvall doesm.
