Retool Time

Description
This team has lost it's mojo, the win streak seems like a different team. This is the perfect year to retool and restock some youth to the organization. I would also consider a coaching change, this style just doesn't work anymore imo

I would also look at trading guys like Parayko, Faulk, Krug, Leddy and Saad, however they are all harder do to contracts

No one is trading a 1st for Barbashev. He had an outliar season last year where his shooting and on-ice shooting % were both 5% more than normal. He was never going to repeat that, no one would expect him to and they've since fallen off as expected this season. He's outside the top 5 fowards available (he's 5th in this AGM alone) and probably closer to 10th than 5th. Not nearly enough value there for a 1st.

For some facts that put your AGM into perspective. Over the last decade, the most 1st round picks traded across the NHL leading up to a deadline was 5. You just traded for more than half of that in 1 teams deals.

The only player I think the Blues will trade this year is Tarasenko. It makes sense to move him the most because there aren’t many solid options hitting free agency this upcoming offseason. I’d trade him with retention for a forward and a draft pick. Perhaps to Philly for Konecny and a 2nd/3rd

We don't do rentals in general, we certainly wouldn't do a rental for this year's first-round draft pick, Vladdy Tarasenko doesn't play LD, and acquiring him would bump Kevin Fiala or Alex Iafallo down to the fourth line. Other than that, it's a perfect fit.

Would Kerfoot, a 2023 1st, Niemela and Robertson be enough for ROR at 50%?
