If Bastian is out long-term….call up Holtz or Mango and reshuffle bottom-six.

Tatar - Hischier - Bratt
Haula - Hughes - Mercer
Wood - McLeod - Zetterlund
Sharangovich - Boqvist - Holtz/Mango

If Bastian is out short-term…call up a Halonen or Dugan

Tatar - Hischier - Bratt
Haula - Hughes - Mercer
Sharangovich - Boqvist - Zetterlund
Wood - McLeod - Dugan/Halonen

Also, Johnsson would have to go through waivers again when sent down. So may not be worth it if it’s just a couple of games.

I feel like that 17-70-10 line is really gonna struggle offensively. They don’t have any play driving

I think it’ll be Johnsson to come up. He’s over ppg in Utica and fits the 4th line better than Holtz could. Plus maybe he could gain his form back a little as well and if we need to waive him again so be it.

Michael Vukojevic (LD)......15--0---0---0---0.00--41%

--------------

Some notable:
Overall, team has not been scoring as much as last year. They started slow, and have picked up offense a bit.

Geertsen has a point. One lone secondary assist on a Nick Hutchinson goal.

Mango has been piling up the points, but his shot number is low.

Walsh continues to be underrated for his defense, especially 5v5 where he has only been on the ice for 5 goals allowed.

Foote has been good on...the penalty kill.

Nemec's points will rise, he is team leader for on-ice goals for and his PP time is growing.

Expect Clarke to improve on 3 goals scored thus far. He is team leader and shots and chances for, but shooting 7%

I refuse to believe that playing this man for 25 games in the NHL was a better decision than giving those games to Foote or Clarke.
He must be holding something incriminating over Lindy or Tom.

For real. Why was Sharangovich trying to force his way into the Ozone? Puck Possession. If you can’t enter cleanly, circle back and regroup. I also haven’t liked lindy starting Sharangovich with Hischier. Start Hischier with Bratt moving forward and Sharangovich Haula.

We got a point and we were bound to lose some games. I think this game has a lot of good teaching moments that the team can look over and learn from.

Also I know he gave 3 quick ones up but Saros played great, really kept them in it.

Im glad we got a point at least. We definitely looked worse compared to other games (except that 4 minute stretch).

OT lines should be
Hischier-Bratt-Hamilton
Hughes-Sharangovich-Marino
Mercer-Tatar-Severson

Gritsyuk heating up (9 pts in last 6 GP)
Nemec with 5 pts in 2 GP (and nearly a Gordie Howe hat trick).
Salminen now scoring at UConn
Mukhamadullin committing to playing in NA
Casey to WJC

So many great things going on with prospect pool right now.

Don’t forget Topias Vilen playing top minutes in Liiga as an 18 year old and playing out of his mind.
I still think we have a top 3 prospect pool in the league

I couldn't list them all...but Devils prospects are crushing it all over the place

Gritsyuk on fire
Mukhamadullin looks awesome (and is coming this year)
Nemec on fire
Salminen heating up
Casey to WJC
Vilen looks legit

Foote's penalty killing
Walsh' two-way play
Shlaine playing 1C, nearly ppg
Stillman rebounding with Othmann since trade
McCarthy playing top pair (and making Lane Hutson look good...as he did with Cam York, David Farrance, Dom Fensore...)
Leddy getting top-4 minutes as Freshman
Orlov gets called up to KHL, later wins player of the week, was recently above Luke Hughes in NHLe
Brady looking solid in back-up role
Bardakov is 3rd Devil in top-10 of KHL scoring for u22 (with Grits, Muk)

Didn’t realize Shlaine was getting top line and playing that well. I had written him off after last year. Nikola Pasic has also been playing well though I’m not sure his play warrants a contract.

Shlaine’s puck skills are fantastic. Not sure if skating translates to next level.
