With the abundance of promising goalie prospects in that Sabres prospect pool, which one would you give up in a trade? Who from the Habs would you want in return? Devon Levi is a no no already.

Since you say no to all those guys in the trade post. Caufield, suzuki or dach? Honestly though if you want one of their good goalie prospects you will have to give up another good prospect. Also Buffalo has alot of decent prospects as it is so they would probably likely just want to keep them and see who pans out.

Portillo is most likely the one on the block. We have no idea if he will sign with us or not.

We're not moving UPL, Levi or Leinonen.

If you want a top goaltender prospect, you’re going to have to give up a top prospect of your own. I’d like Sean Farrell, and it kind of depends on which goaltender you think you’re getting as to what we would add if anything. For example, I would say we don’t have to add anything if it’s Luukkonen you’re getting. Of course that would only happen if Levi comes in and immediately takes the job.

I doubt Leinonen would be for sale, as he came from the last draft and GMs rarely trade someone they just drafted. And currently UPL is on our NHL roster with Comrie hurt, so he wouldn’t be moved right now without a NHL goalie coming back. So that leaves Portillo as the most likely one to be moved. We probably don’t have any desire to trade for forward prospects, we have Cozens, JJP, Quinn and Krebs in the NHL now, and Savoie, Kulich, Ostlund, Rosen on the way along with a bunch of guys that could carve out bottom 6 roles. I think we would want a defenseman prospect, preferably a RD. I don’t know the Habs system enough to determine if there is a fair trade outside of the ones you said no to already. But Barron would be very intriguing.

Xhekaj, I'd like a cop on each pairing, I'd understand if Portillo is not enough, I heard Kent Hughes really wanted Noah Ostlund but I think Portillo and Ostlund is an over payment.

So, Portillo would be the one to go in this mock trade. The ask is Barron, but imo he's worth more than just Portillo. I've thrown in a LD prospect Jayden Struble and the return is a 2nd and Portillo. Struble is currently in the NCAA, and doesn't look like he'll sign, so he's in the same boat as Portillo.

The 2nd is Vegas's, so it should be lower value than the other 2 2nds in Buffalo's possession.
