Description
NYR wouldn’t do this obviously, can’t get rid of an elite goalie.

LA adds?

Just want to some chaos and it’s a very out there trade. It’s always the same trades on here. Let’s hear it.

Something different

Kings needed to try way harder the draft that cossa and Wallstedt was in to get one of them and Blake failed.

Shesterkin is incredible and the story behind his draft year at the draft is pretty good I believe it’s an athletic article about a month or so back.

Rangers got a steal with him.

Probably a close in terms of value but I dont think Byfield would be their trade target. He has a ton of value as a C prospect, but with Shesterkin being a prove Vezina calibre goalie. They will want someone more established imo.

Sometimes I wish the NHL was more similar to the NBA in terms of pure chaotic trades. Would love to see a move like this.

Fair enough. I was just imagining lafreniere with Byfield. Would be something else imo.

Yep. I think the tkachuck trade was pretty good. Especially the sign and trade.

If anything, Shesterkin is an example of why you DON'T draft guys like Cossa and Wallstedt. Teams can stumble upon elite goaltending anywhere in the draft.

The Petersen contract was always weird to me, he got such a big contract after showing so little.

Hated the minute they signed him that contract. Showed nothing to deserve 5AAV. He’s a 3AAV goalie and it’s showing now.

Edit: for some reason I thought Shesterkin went later in the 1st for some reason. But yes to your point you are right about drafting goalies so high. Very risky. Quick I think went in the 3rd round.

Maybe they wouldn't but you know what, Maybe they could? NYR does need a good shaking, maybe not this much but it is interesting concept at least.
Because Chytil finally playing like a nr 2 C, I do think LAK need to add, maybe even someone like Vilardi because Byfield looks more and more like a long term project.

Vilardi wouldn’t be the extra piece. Itd be a high pick/prospect or maybe a guy like grundstrom who I like in the bottom 6

I didn't mean he was an extra piece but Petersen is basically overpaid backup goalie cap dump. Byfield in my eyes is not a sure bet, and don't know enough about 'Laferriere'...
But it is like Franchise goalie and solid top 6 center for a high prospect that hasn't paned out yet, and a first and 3rd... It is little underwhelming for my taste.
I can understand wanting to hang on to Vilardi, but seriously there needs to be more coming back to NYR to even consider this trade.

Alex Laferriere put up solid numbers at Harvard as a freshman like 30 points 15 goals in like 35 games. I put his name in due to the fact some Harvard players don’t sign with the teams that drafted them for whatever reason. I was going to put in jack Hughes in his place same kind of player selected in the 2nd round as the kings 1st pick I believe. Good prospects imo. Maybe a prospect like ****emo could go the other way as he’s more developed.

But in reality it’s not gonna happen.
