Imo, don’t sign dermott, don’t sign engvall, shave 500k off kuzmenko and keep garland. Much better lineup

I'm fine with not signing Dermott but given management gave up a 3rd for him I think they'll give him another shot on a 1yr deal if he's healthy. Kuzmenko could shave off 500k or more, could also be higher still a little difficult to predict that contract given the small sample size. We should absolutely keep him though.

I disagree on engvall and garland. Engvall is a big body and a good skater that is reliable defensively. We need more of that. I'm not very high on garland and would like to get out of his contract asap. I'm trying to create a third line here that can play some matchup minutes and basically split duty with peteys line in matchup roles letting the Horvat Miller line be pure offense.

Yeah good luck convincing Horvat to sign for $7,000,000 per. Try closer to $8,000,000 to $8,500,000 per that's the very reason why he's probably out the door.

I don't think it's far fetched to see him sign for 7per particularly if the Canucks get into the playoff contention here again.

It's the same total money as Miller at 56million. If Canucks don't trade him then most he can get is 7yrs in UFA and I doubt he gets more than 8.5x7yrs in free agency which is total money 59.5mil. Not a big discrepancy there so at that point it would pretty much come down to whether or not he wants to play in Vancouver or if he feels it's time for him to move on.

I think 7.5Mx8 is the low end for Horvat, the high end is probably 8.5M. But I agree that Horvat still has to decide if he wants to stay and that decision will also have a big effect with Pettersson next year.

Of course allvin would see if there are better returns out there but if there's nothing enticing offered I'd be willing to move him for a 3rd

Is there a specific reason I'm seeing Canucks trading Boeser to MTL all of a sudden?

I mean, I'll accept this all day. I'm just not sure why VAN is in such a hurry to move him now?
