So you under pay on most of these deals most notable to me is Zub only getting a 2. Really if that's the offer Dorian hangs up.

How is that an under pay? And which ones are underpays?

Trade value aside, I agree with your overall analysis. The D targets make sense and the idea would be to get them for cheap. As for the forward options, I don't think Sheary, Hinostraza, or Domi would be very reliable for scoring. I could see them add someone like that but they probably do need more.

Domi isn’t an underpay it’s just not the type of package I’d want

Honestly he's especially at the TDL worth a 1 plus. David Savard got A 1,3&4 and Zub is better.

I don't think there is room for more. Cap space is tight and there aren't many expendable roster players

2nd round prospect + 3rd round pick + another intriguing prospect is very good given what he got last year

Teams require premiums at the TDL especially for RHD because someone will pay it. None of those Defenseman are got that cheap. Their will be enough teams trying to buy those guys the price is expensive.

Anyone of zub, Soucy, and Gavrikov could get at least get the Jensen offer but their teams will be looking for overpays (1st+ or two 2nds), Ottawa is a division rival so even if they are out they probably aren't trading Zub for cheap to Toronto.

Savard was an overpayment but at least he had a track record and he had played playoff games. He was also the best D on the market. Zub is borderline top 4 on a contender, on the Leafs he's behind Brodie and Liljegren on the right side.

That is fine with me but Ottawa was coming into the season with playoff hopes and right now they're dead last in the division. They should try to get some value for their mediocre players regardless of the trade partner.

Teams get overpays at the TDL EVERY YEAR why does Ottawa help Toronto for less than market value ? Answer they don't in fact if he's a first to say Nashville he's a 1&3 to Toronto. No Liljegren isn't better than Zub.

Jensen & Sheary would be ideal TDL targets, but WSH is only 4 points out of WC2.

Yeah, I agree with that, so they might just get Domefor example. I do think they could benefit with trading Kerfoot for someone with similar defensive capabilities but with more of a scoring touch. Will be a challenge for sure to even get some so might not happen.

That's true but if someone else is offering a 2nd,
they will ask Toronto what more can you offer.

Each team is going to be looking to get a premium for their guys but obviously they might not all get them. Dubas is bound to get someone without having to pay a premium or much of one, if all these guys do end up being options.

You're right though none of these guys are even going to be the big prize from among the rental Ds, that's probably Klingberg as an OFD, maybe Soucy (with SEA having a spot currently) and Zub might also bring in a ton too. There could be a ton on fowards too that contenders spend their prime assets on. So overall, price on D rentals could be lower than last year.

Weren't you going on in another AGM about how Gavrikov actually secretly sucks and isn't worth it? And yet suddenly he's a target you're underpaying for here And you're trying to pull the same with Zub.

Pro tip: trade negging does not get you good deals, it just gets you pissed off replies, flames, and "no, never, go away forever".

That's the same analytics that say Myers has been TB's best defenseman too. So, I really think you can wipe your a$$ with those analytics.

I said he isn't good this year and isn't worth a 1st, which is true. For a fair price (a 2nd + b prospect) he's worth a shot at turning it around on a better team.
