Jfc, that’s more than we got for Eichel.
It’s a ridiculous overpay

And Chychrun makes little sense for us
We can’t afford to pay him on his next contract with Power & Dahlin set to get big raises.
Need some Cap Space left for all the young forwards we’re developing- can’t have it all wrapped up in defense

Bottom line:
Acquiring him, just to turn around & flip him in a year & a half or so, would be a dumb move.

Ideally, going forward, P 1 Dahlin/Samuelson, P 2 Power/Joki, P 3 a cost effective LHD in the around $2 mill range/LyBush.

Johnson could/could've been that guy, but he thinks he just getting a spot, when most Dmen have to play in the AHL for some time.

Even if Johnson doesn’t sign, i think we’ll be fine on the 3rd pair
Once we find a legit partner for Power (or Jokiharju/Lyubushkin settles into that role good enough),
then we’ll only need that 3rd pair for 12ish minutes a night anyways

I do think we should look to upgrade RD2,
but Chychrun is the wrong guy for that spot for a bunch of reasons

Yeah, agree on Chychrun, and RD 2. Hopefully Joki stays healthy, I like LyBush as RD 3. I read an article today (all the Chychrun talk) about taking some of the load off Dahlin and Power. They are and will be 1 & 2, but we need our 3rd LHD to be reliable, but not costing us $4 mill. Dahlin and Power are due in a couple years, and they're going to get paid.

Also, after the 1rst RD this year, we need to Draft heavy on Def. for the pipeline, IMO.

Well we do have a 1st and three 2nds
At least 2 of those picks should be spent on RD imo
I’d be ok using 1 of them for another goalie as well if we can’t sign Portillo
We could get a 4th pick in the 2nd as well, if Ryan Johnson decides not to sign

I’m not the slightest bit concerned about taking any load off of Dahlin & Power at all
Dahlin is ready for 25min + a night
And Power is progressing well also imo

I think all we’ll need out of our 3rd pair,
is 15min a night where they don’t hurt us

I know (seemingly) everyone is super impatient bc of all the losing we’ve been doing, but i think Adams is rebuilding us the right way

Just need one of these young goalies to work out,
and continued growth from all the young talent we have up front, & i think we’ll be just fine

I agree with all you said, and even where we are in the standings, I'd like to get a 3rd P LHD sooner rather than later, just to get him in the rotation.

I hear ya, but I’m not all that concerned
If we can sign Ryan Johnson, then he can be the guy long term & we can make do with Bryson, Pilut, etc for the time being

I’m more concerned about a partner for Power,
but I’m still hopeful Jokiharju could work out
