Both teams say no. Montreal isn't going to retain 50% if Newhook is all they get in return and Colorado can find a better use for the cap space they have available.

Yeah they are presently looking about Bo Horvat or Jonathan Toews and newhook could be the sacrificial lamb to obtain one of this player.

But Monahan could be option B if one of the two other is not available.

I agree. Montreal does it, no questions asked. Colorado doesn't even consider it.

If you can turn Monahan into a developing young player, you do that 110 times out of 100.

But he's still working into his roll. He might not hit his absolute ceiling, but I think he's gonna be just fine. If i'm moving him, it's not for Monohan.
