Description
I’ve been a big lou supporter his entire time here, last season when they were struggling I said it was trotz, the toews trade was bad but there weren’t any better options other than leaving your HC out to dry. I’ve made a lot of excuses for Lou and for the most part I think he’s earned them. But this offseason they’re set up and Lou has to deliver. They finally have a decent prospect pool again, the roster is good, they have cap space, and they need a LW1 desperately. Ultimately the tenure of Lou will be judged by 2 things, 1- a championship and 2- do what Garth couldn’t and get that W we’ve been looking for for a decade. He’s been setting up for this offseason and now he’s got to deliver.

I don't think Keller will be made available just because he helps them reach that cap floor and he's young enough to still be an impactful player beyond their rebuild timeline. If they do move him perhaps it's after 2 years.

Lou probably pursues Tarasenko in free agency, perhaps for 7mx5(7).

What's Beau's value right now? He'd be a nice add to WPG's roster immediately.

Team is 15-8-0 and looks like a strong playoff contender so I can't see them subtracting from their top 9 in the middle of it. It would have to be either a massive overpay (talking a 1st+) or as part of a player for player deal - which the two teams don't really line up on. Only player I could see the Isles targeting from the Jets would be Nik Ehlers (which would obviously have the Islanders adding something.) Just not a great fit for an in-season trade.

Keller isn’t available, he’s the cornerstone they’re building around

if the jets would be interested in some sort of heinola/beau swap with whoever adding (honestly not sure of heinola's value right now so could be either side) as long as it's not a first on the isles side i could see a lot of interest

I think that would definitely be intruiging from the Jets perspective. I'm not sure what his general value is around the league, I know the Jets value him pretty highly though, he's been one of the better dmen in the AHL the past few years (analytically/production). From a cap/long-term perspective it would probably be better for the Jets to move a salaried defenseman to fit Beau's 4m.
You think the Isles would have interest in any of the non-Morrissey roster defenceman on the Jets? Or is it Heinola or go home?

I doubt NYI moves beau for a dman.

Organize a "Trade for Meier" movement, and hope Lou listens. Otherwise, if you see Tarasenko becoming available in the next free agency, brace yourself.
