I don't understand what Horvat brings to the leafs. He is a solid player and I'd love to have him on my team but I don't think he fills their biggest needs. I think they need a legitimate top six left winger

My thoughts on bringing Horvat would be how rough the Leafs look at Centre if one of Matthews or Tavares get hurt like JT did against Montreal in the playoffs. They threw Nylander and Kerfoot in that spot which was rough. Worst case ontario here they could move JT or Horvat to LW if none of Crouse, Knies, or Robertson stick in the top 6.

That makes sense. I think with Engvall, Kerfoot, Holmberg, Kampf, and Jarnkrok, that is your depth. Obviously none of them are top 2 though. Having a player that can C or W just makes a team that much more flexible
