Guessing you don’t know much about Stankoven. Easy no for Dallas

Third line is fine. First line is fine. Segs and Marchie need an upgrade on Guri on the second line. Def don’t want Tuzzi if you’re asking for Stankoven. Stolarz isn’t an upgrade on Wedge

If Bertuzzi is a pending UFA and unlikely to re-sign with Detroit, and they get offered the MVP of CHL last year, there's no chance they decline.

Even lesser chance is that DAL will ever offer that though.

Stankoven is an excellent prospect. He was great for Team Canada at the WJC. I'd take him and a 1st for Bert. But yeah Jimmy Nill isn't doing that.

I know he's a fine prospect, but also very small. I like Stranges too, but, this is also trying to dump Faksa's bad contract on us and Barber is of zero value.

Stankoven, Stranges and a 2nd straight up and you *might* have a deal. The 3rd is not enough to take back the dead cap of Faksa, especially with retention.

Honest question, why would Dallas even be in on Bertuzzi? I see no way they could extend him and giving up what it would take to get him, for a rental, just doesn't make a lot of sense...

Faksa is a dump. The rest is kinda meh. I don’t disagree with any of that. But giving up Stankoven for Tuzzi is a bad idea imo. I’d rather keep the younger, cheaper, controlled player all day long. Overall looking at the trade there’s a lot of don’t need/want that pieces in there, you’re right. Detroit should want a first/second round pick and a quality prospect, but I don’t see Tuzzi on an expiring contact pulling a top prospect. And even tho Stank is small, he’s a top prospect. Should we have traded Robertson for an aging player on an expiring contract a few years ago cuz his skating wasn’t great??

Lines are always off when it’s another teams fan. Ask StL if there’s something wrong with our third line lol

That's all fair, I made a comment right after that post that kinda sums up my thoughts on a Bertuzzi to Dallas fit as well

Absolutely Detroit takes that, as long as stankoven is in the package it's an absolute yes.

Stankoven and Bourque aren't going to be on the block this TDL. Dallas would be more inclined to trade away picks & guys like Lian Bichsel than either of Stankoven or Bourque.

I'm also not sure they'd move any of those assets for a forward this year. They are currently the 2nd highest scoring team in the NHL. If they're trading away high picks/solid prospects, I'd expect that they'd target a top-4 RD. Lundkvist is solid & will be a great top-4 RD moving forward, but he's only a rookie and the Stars could use an upgrade over Hakanpaa and/or Miller on the right side of their blue line.

Dallas needs upgrade at the D position if they want to smell like a contender.

Not enough PMD besides Miro and Lundqvist.

I think our current prospect pool is why they were willing to move a first for Nils. I don’t see Nill moving any of our top guys to add to the current roster. We have some holes, but it just doesn’t make sense to trade prospects that might end up being better than the guys we’re trading for asa next year. I think a lot of ppl were expecting more of a transition year this year. A strong start is a wonderful thing but shouldn’t throw off the long term game plan. Just my two cents
