By that logic, the could sign Meirer (maybe he wants a one year deal). Then there is no cap for Bunting. Holmberg and Kamph need new contracts

Not true at all. Holmberg is a 1-2 mil guy, Kampf 2-2.5, Bunts might be someone you let go & put Knies into that role, I don’t see bunts staying tbh he is a 4-5 mil guy & Meier is worth that upgrade

It’s a base trade, they can dump contracts onto the Leafs if need be
