It would only be 16% of the cap for the 24-25 season, the percentage would continue to get lower as the cap continues to grow.

I think you nailed it with ethereal (def, extremely delicate and light in a way that seems too perfect for this world).
Pretty much no chance Matthews signs in Minnesota

. I see him signing a 4-5 year extension in Toronto (centre of the hockey universe) & then possibly moving down south on one more ufa contract
