Need to pay to move Kerfoot to the hawks

Sharks should take that in a heartbeat

Leafs don't have the cap (or want) for EK. Leafs are much better off with 1.4m Sandin and 7.6m in cap than EK....plus the futures
Horribly trade for the Leafs to trade for the very middling or worse Max Jones. Lots of wingers like him around, and certainly the Leafs are trading Minten.

I'm sure San Jose would take him anyways. He should have just been included in that trade.

Why the hell would any team trade a young NHL player under team control straight up for a prospect who hasn't turned pro yet, let alone add retention.

no problem with taking Kerfoot as a sharks fan, Chicago or another team might have to be involved to add another 2.5 mil in retention on Karlsson IMO. and that would add another 1st I would assume. Karlsson as he is playing now would be a HUGE upgrade for Toronto but if he gets injured again it could destroy the value of the deal for you guys.

My only guess is because CapFriendly told them so

If Chicago's eating $2.5 per year for FOUR years, they would need a lot more. It's rare for a team to eat that much cap for that long, especially if they are just acting as the broker.

Seems like Jones could be folded into a three-way deal whereby the Ducks retain 25% on Karlsson . . .
