Different Approach for the Oilers

Created by: PurpleHippo
Team: 2022-23 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 30, 2022
Published: Nov. 30, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I don't know if Ferraro is on the market or not.

Trade values are:

Ferraro for Broberg + Yams + 1st (little less than what Chychrun's ask is).
Lebanc for Pulji + (B- to B+) prospect + 2nd (Lebanc seems like he'd be cheaper, probably an overpay but there is retention as well).

Would also pay more for Meier instead of Lebanc (the 2023 1st, Bourgault, etc.).
Trades
EDM

I don’t think it’s bad, I’m just not sure sharks move Ferraro. Yamo and Puljujarvi are just not really interesting either with their play

even if it was the 25 1st and 24 2nd sharks accept
Ferraro is a solid D but I don't think he is worth this much and Labanc and Puljujarvi are about the same value wise.
I like Labanc more than him but he is just barely starting to look like like a competent middle 6 guy again. would rather wait till he got hot again and try and gain more value.
but if this is the offer i would fall all over myself to make the deal, hell I'd throw in another prospect as well and still do it (think like Weisblatt or Hatakka)

Wouldn't swap the year on the picks, the 2023 first would likely be used for something bigger and this already is a slight overpay.

It is an overpay, I wouldn't say by a lot though.

Depends on where you value Labanc, and for me I see him as worth a 2nd and the 2 year retention worth a 2nd + a bit as well.
Could likely drop Savoie from this deal but I think a prospect is needed to get the retention.

Ferraro is hard to value, but he is on a great deal for 4 years and is just getting into "prime" age for a dman.
Could likely trade someone other than Broberg (maybe Lavoie/Petrov), again depends on the market.

I can't see any possibility the Sharks would not accept this.
