Can't see DAL paying a first for a former second round pick who hasn't really shown (or given real opportunity imo) that he is an NHL regular.

There's a good chance he will be, but still uncertain for the time being.

That's a fair offer. But if Robertson is top 6, why do the Leafs do it? Leafs have three UFA LWers next summer. Gotta think they need to keep Robertson. Why do so many Leaf fans think Timmins is gonna be Leaf this year?

Given all the injuries right now, it's not unrealistic to think Timmins should see some ice time.

No it's not. He's not in the Leafs lineup when four of the their top 7 are injured. Brodie, Holl, Liljegren, Benn and Hollowell are ahead of on the right side. Geez he was traded for for 4th line AHLer.
Timmins isn't playing and when he has played he hasn't been good.

To be fair, he's played 51 games in the past three seasons, and that includes both NHL and AHL. He's had some bad luck with injuries. Don't think there's enough there to say he hasn't been good.

In my opinion, worth playing him a couple of games and finding out.

I don’t think Robertson will fetch a 1st rounder. He’s skilled no doubt. But he hasn’t done much to impress and his size immediately makes him less desirable. Look at Malgin. The guy gives it his all every night and is still struggling to stay in the lineup. People will quickly point out the exceptions such as Debrincat. But size is still a big part of the game.

While I agree about the value in the trade. I think it is worth giving him a fair shake if injury or poor play from someone else call for it. I agree that Hollowell has been decent enough too.

IMO, Dallas needs upgrade at the D position not in front.

I also don't see Nill trading another 1st round pick after the Lundkvist trade.
